1. Choose the right TRA program

The Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP) applies to specified occupations and passport countries. It is compulsory for permanent migration applicants in certain licensed trades, including Electrician (General), Electrician (Special Class), Plumber (General), and Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic.

The Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) may apply where TRA is the assessing authority and OSAP is not mandatory. Use the current TRA program pages rather than choosing from old forum advice.

2. OSAP Pathway 1 and Pathway 2

Pathway 1 is generally for applicants without a relevant Australian VET qualification. Pathway 2 is for applicants who hold a relevant Australian VET qualification or current identified Australian occupational licence.
